Jiangsu Wanbao Bridge Component Co., Ltd. China (JWBCL) has become the largest manufacturer of Bridge Elastomeric, Spherical & Pot bearings along with ± 2.5 – 135cm (gap) expansion joints in East China. JWBCL is the only company who has 30 years’ experience of R & D and works for world renowned companies like BASF (Wabo), JWBCL has its own trade mark for more than 40 patents like WBPZ (KL), WKJ-QZ seismic, HDR, LNR series, JPZ, and JQZ. These patents are being copied throughout China. JWBCL covers an area of more than 68,000 square meters, with a registered capital of 108 million yuan and more than 300 employees, including 30 technicians with intermediate and senior titles, 70 junior college graduates. JWBCL has 200 sets of large and medium-sized processing equipment. JWBCL produces 250, 000 LM Expansion Joints for railways, highways and bridges and 600,000 rubber bearings per year. In Pakistan NHA approved JWBCL expansion joint on behalf of Wabo Germany (M-300) for Sultan Bahoo Bridge over River Chenab Linking Shorkot-Garh Maharaja- Package 1 Main Bridge.

Expansion Joints for MRS Punjab
For a very long time, Expansion Joints were incorporated in BOQ for contractors working in the province of Punjab Pakistan. Were considered to be a non-schedule item that was altered and changed after a unanimous decision was reached by the respective consultant and client.
The finance department of Punjab realized the shortage of funds and overlapping pressure of projects being delayed due to the lack of funds available. Later, the issue of allocation of funds per project had become increasingly difficult. The Finance department of the Province of Punjab formed a scheduled rate system updated Bi-Annually every year to better understand and allocate resources for the Province of Punjab.
At first, the BOQ specifications for Expansion Joints could not be understood as the requirements and the price weren’t coinciding. Later, the biggest task that remained was understanding the requirements whilst not compromising the quality of the Expansion Joints. So, for the following purpose the Expansion Joints after a thorough research of the Pakistani Production capacity it was decided to manufacture the following Expansion Joints, from China.
The Expansion joints have been extruded and cut as per the required size and configuration complying with the thickness of the fingers as stated by MRS Punjab. The specifications specified the following points.
Providing and fixing metallic expansion Joints of 3/4″ thick Aluminium Alloy strip of specified width duly bolted with check nuts @ 9″ c/c with the MSlugs for specified movements as mentioned by the designer i/c the cost of polystyrene joint fill but excluding the cost of Lugs complete in all respect as approved and directed by the Engineer Incharge.
Keeping in view the Requirements, The following ST-series was introduced paying very close attention to detail.
